Let’s play with this thought: Scientists believe that energy cannot be created or destroyed. Modern day mystics believe that all there ever was, has always been and will always be. Both are the same concept just applied differently. But, how does that fit into evolution? What if we are just making those same concepts better and more effective? I am inviting you to play with those two questions as we explore a custom of the past.
In the 18th and 19th century French women where known to carry fans. It was the accessory of the day. The fans where crafted and detailed to display images of loved ones or stories of lovers. Women took these fans everywhere; in many paintings they seem to be fanning themselves to cool off from the hot sun. Fanning was also a flirtatious practice used as a secret way of communicating to a lover across the room. Even if the mistress was standing right beside her husband! Where fans the cell phones (with secret text) of the past?
